HRH Princess Ghida Talal Meets Saudi Delegation at KHCC

Amman, July 7, 2021 - HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC) met with H.E. Saudi Ambassador to Jordan Naif Bin Bandar Al Sudairi., and Mr. Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al-Murshed, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).  During their visit to the Center, they toured the King Salman Building, which was established through a grant from SFD.

Princess Ghida expressed her deep appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and SFD for their continuous support for and belief in KHCF/KHCC’s  life-saving mission.

Ambassador Al-Sudairi mentioned that KHCC is one of the leading institutions providing comprehensive medical services to cancer patients from Jordan and the Arab world, and highlighted its commendable role in supporting the treatment of underprivileged patients. He also noted that KHCC has gained a prominent global reputation, as demonstrated through its numerous partnerships with global leaders, including the King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Saudi Arabia as well as hospitals across the U.S. and Europe.

Saudi Arabia’s donation to KHCC was made under the directive of HM King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and HRH Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz. The Ambassador emphasized the significance of the donation as a demonstration of Saudi Arabia’s interest in supporting institutions that play a major role in treating cancer patients and fighting cancer.

For his part, Mr. Al-Murshed expressed his gratitude to the Jordanian government and KHCC for naming one of the new buildings after the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He stressed the importance of continuing support for the Center and its activities, which is currently providing services not only to patients in Jordan but from across the Arab world.

The King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud building consists of 13 floors with 179 beds, an integrated department for diagnostic radiology and radiotherapy, an integrated unit for bone marrow transplantation and intensive care rooms for pediatric and adult patients, in addition to other departments and private suites.
