A proud alumna of Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, Princess Ghida remains a strong ally and supporter of the University as a member of the Board of Directors of the Master of Science in Foreign Service, a position she has held since 2011. Princess Ghida also served on Georgetown’s Board of Regents from 2003 to 2009.

Khalidi Library in Jerusalem

Princess Ghida serves as Chair of the International Advisory Board of the Khalidi Library (or ‘al Khalidiyyah’) in Jerusalem, home to the largest private collection of Palestinian literary and historical documents in the Levant, built by Palestinians. The Library also has a renowned private collection of Islamic manuscripts housed in an ancient building that dates back to the Mamluk dynasty. The Khalidi Library was originally established in 1899 by Princess Ghida’s great-grandmother, Khadijah al Khalidi, and reopened in 2015. It is home to 1900 manuscripts written in Arabic, Turkish, and Farsi on a variety of subjects such as Islamic theology, law, and philosophy.

Institute of International Education – Scholar Rescue Fund

Princess Ghida has served on the Board of the Institute of International Education (IIE) since February 2013. Founded in 1919, IIE is one of the world’s largest international and most prestigious education and training organizations in the world. In 2007, Princess Ghida, played a major role in supporting the Iraq Scholar Rescue Fund, a renowned program of the IIE established to rescue persecuted scholars from Iraq and find them safe haven at host universities across the Middle East, Europe and the U.S.

The Jordanian Society of Pediatric Oncology

Princess Ghida has served as the Honorary Chairperson of the Jordan Society for Pediatric Oncology (JSPO) since its establishment in 2005. JSPO is a professional society of pediatric oncologists in Jordan, who study and treat childhood cancer in Jordan and collaborate with other professionals who provide care to children with cancer in Jordan and around the world.

Princess Ghida has served on the Board of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts (JNGFA) since October 2005. First inaugurated in February 1980, JNFGA falls under the Royal Society for Fine Art, a non-governmental non-profit organization that aims to encourage cultural diversity and knowledge through art.

As an avid sportswoman and former competitive swimmer, Princess Ghida has been a major supporter of the sport of swimming in Jordan. Since 1997, Princess Ghida has served as the Honorary Chairperson of the Jordan Swimming Federation (JSF). JSF was first established in 1979 and is the governing body for aquatic sports in Jordan as well as one of the Jordanian Olympic Committee Federations.
