HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), met with partners from Ma’an, Tafilah, and Aqaba, along with beneficiaries and supporters of the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP), led by KHCF.
The meeting was held to coincide with the launch of the 10th national breast cancer awareness campaign under the slogan “You Are the Foundation… Get Screened,” aimed at increasing awareness and encouraging regular screenings.
On the occasion, Princess Ghida stressed the importance of early detection, urging women to prioritize regular screenings and overcome fear and stigma associated with cancer.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Asem Mansour, the CEO of KHCC, Mrs. Nisreen Qatamish, Director General of KHCF, Mr. Shadi Al Majali, Chairman of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, and H.E Mr. Miguel de Lucas González, Spanish Ambassador to Jordan, representing the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation. The Ambassador’s attendance reaffirmed the Agency’s recent support to JBCP through a grant aimed at enhancing awareness and promoting early detection of breast and cervical cancer.
JBCP already provides comprehensive services in southern Jordan, including awareness and facilitated access to screening through organized transportation to the Aqaba early detection unit.
