HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), inaugurated the 9th Conference of the International Society of Pediatric Oncology – Asia, hosted by KHCC at Le Royal Hotel. The three-day conference was attended by Dr. Asem Mansour, Director General of KHCC, along with prominent physicians, speakers, and participants. On the occasion, Princess Ghida opened the medical exhibition accompanying the event.

In her opening remarks, Princess Ghida stated: “Cancer has touched all of us in one way or another, which makes our presence at this conference an urgent necessity in the fight against childhood cancer. I am proud that this congress is being held in Jordan for the first time, reaffirming our deep commitment to joining international efforts in this battle. We believe in the importance of our cause and are determined to continue our journey to defeat this cruel disease.”

Conference Chair Dr. Fares Mdanat, Director of Academic Affairs at KHCC, welcomed the attendees and presented key topics to be addressed over the three days, including the latest approaches to diagnosing and treating pediatric cancers. He also highlighted two major panel discussions: the first focused on the barriers hindering joint research among Asian countries and how to overcome them, and the second on improving the quality of medical care for children with cancer across Asia—particularly in low-income countries, where survival rates remain below 20 percent.
