HRH Princess Ghida Talal, Chairperson of the King Hussein Cancer Foundation (KHCF) and Center (KHCC), patronized a ceremony held by the Jordan Breast Cancer Program (JBCP) at the Sheraton Hotel to launch this year’s October Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign under the slogan “Promise Us You’ll Get Checked.” The event was attended by HE Dr. Abdul Latif Wreikat, Minister of Health, and Dr. Asem Mansour, Director General of KHCC.

This year’s campaign slogan builds on last year’s message, which targeted men to take on a supportive and proactive role by encouraging the women in their lives, whether wives, mothers, sisters, or daughters, to undergo early detection screenings. Building on that, JBCP collaborated with key opinion leaders from across various fields, religious figures, doctors, artists, athletes, and more, to play a vital role in influencing different segments of society. Religious leaders will emphasize a woman’s duty to care for her body and health, doctors will deliver the message that early detection saves lives, and artists will encourage women to prioritize their own well-being for themselves and their families. Ultimately, the shared message from all these voices in society is: “Promise Us You’ll Get Checked.”

In her speech, Princess Ghida stated: “This year, JBCP has taken bolder and more impactful steps by directing its message through influential voices in our community—individuals we look up to, and who hold great sway over our lives, whether through their religious status, fame, popularity, or strong presence in society. Their participation in this campaign is not only the most effective way to raise awareness but, God willing, the surest way to protect our women from this disease.”
